Stations of the Cross

The Via Crucis recounts the passion of Jesus Christ during Easter. The oldest Via Crucis (1493) is located in Lübeck and, as was used in the past, has only seven stations symbolizing the seven falls of Jesus. It was around 1600 that the use of the Via Crucis was consolidated with 14 stations, including also the deposition from the cross and that in the sepulcher. Since the 18th century, the custom of having a Via Crucis has been consolidated in all churches.

Con la Via Crucis si racconta la passione di Gesù Cristo durante la Pasqua. La Via Crucis più antica (1493) si trova a Lubecca e, come si usava un tempo, ha solo sette stazioni che simboleggiano le sette cadute di Gesù. Fu attorno al 1600 che si consolidò l'uso della Via Crucis con 14 stazioni, comprendenti anche la deposizione dalla croce e quella nel sepolcro. Dal XVIII° secolo in tutte le chiese si è consolidato l'uso di avere una Via Crucis.

With dimensions of 20 by 40 cm plus a small cross, the various representations of Franco's Via Crucis are discreet and delicate and are perfectly suited to small village churches, chapels and private homes. The company follows the tradition of the 14 stations from Pontius Pilate's sentence on Jesus to his deposition in the tomb. In the artistic representation the Via Crucis is rather modern and neutral as a style, therefore suitable for any type of furniture. The reliefs carved in lime wood can be natural, patinated with one color or more colors or painted polished.

Con dimensioni di 20 per 40 cm più una piccola croce, le varie rappresentazioni della Via Crucis di Franco sono discrete e delicate e si adattano perfettamente a piccole chiese di paese, cappelle e abitazioni private. L'azienda segue la tradizione delle 14 stazioni dalla sentenza di Ponzio Pilato su Gesù fino alla sua deposizione nel sepolcro. Nella rappresentazione artistica la Via Crucis è piuttosto moderna e neutrale come stile, adatta perciò a qualsiasi tipo di arredamento. I rilievi scolpiti in legno di tiglio possono essere al naturale, patinati con un colore o a più colori o dipinti lucidati.
